Like Sutcliffe, I don’t think Rodin’s sculptures can really be captured in photos, but in person I found them overwhelming. There’s been a lot of love for Michelangelo around these parts recently, which I completely understand, but for me Rodin has the edge. His work is… for lack of a better word, uglier, sometimes deeply disturbing but always filled with passion and emotion.
